  • Fire extinguishers should be inspected & maintained annually by certified personnel. Eastchester Fire District does not provide this service, but there are many commercial services in the area that do. If you would like to dispose of a fire extinguisher please drop it off at any of our five Fire Stations.

  • Eastchester Fire District does not accept unused, expired medication and/or needles. However, Westchester County offers multiple resources on where you can properly dispose of these items. Visit their website for more information.

  • No, Fire Services are funded through property taxes, there is no charge for any type of fire service response.

  • When an alarm is received it must be investigated and verified. There may be cases where the alarm was activated accidentally, OR where the resident believed there was no danger when there actually was a fire in the wall, oven, appliances, and much more.

  • Due to the varying call volume and the central location of our five fire stations, a fire engine could arrive on location before an ambulance. This allows firefighters to begin rendering life-saving care in situations when seconds matter. All Eastchester Fire District Firefighters are trained in Emergency Medical Response.
